Life of an Art Student

Well, as an official art student in college, I've gotta say some of the work I have to do has been... interesting. Basically, I wouldn't pick it for myself. I would so much rather be snapping a photo or two than making, I kid you not, containers. And not just any containers. Containers that contain a thing or idea and can only be made of raw materials. That's right folks. No nail. Probably no glue. No cardboard boxes. Nothing manufactured. You can bet that I racked my brain and complained about that one for a while. Finally I came up with an idea and then finally I executed it. As for now, here are photos from the other night.

Dying the fabrics! Never dyed anything before.. except when I was a kid and my mom helped me and my friends tye-dye shirts with kool-aid for my hippie birthday party! Yeah, she's the best.. but anyway:

Dark violet.

Blue blue blueeee

Deep red mixed with black. Also, I made this container out of a milk carton so I could dye this fabric that night. Look how artsy I am :')

I got excited pulling them out and seeing the progress! Dying was pretty fun

Oh, until I had to clean the dye up. And I thought this looked cool. Is that creepy of me? "Crime scene in my shower" - really red dye..

you can't see from this photo, but my hand was dyed a bit blue! I felt like an avatar.

here's to art projects that I would never choose for myself!
