4 Simple Goals *before 2013! (inspired by Elsie Larson)
I saw this beautiful idea on one of my most FAVORITE blogs www.abeautifulmess.com (image and below text are from that website). Here is what it read:
Here are the "rules"-
1. Choose simple goals that will make your life richer and happier on a daily basis. Choose things you may not otherwise get done, but that are not difficult to accomplish.
2. Do not choose result oriented goals, choose activity oriented goals. for example.... instead of "lose 10 pounds", choose something like "eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day". Get what I'm saying? Positive actions instead of just the end result!
3. Choose goals that are personal that you believe will truly make your life richer just by doing them! They can be daily, weekly or one time experiences.
4. Choose a reward for each goal as it is accomplished! It can be a small or large reward- it's up to you.
5. Blog about your goals, each one as you achieve it and a big post when they are all finished before the new year! I'll be doing this too! Link back to this post if you want to and leave us links to your goal blogs in the comments of this (or any) post for a chance to be featured on ABM before the new year. We will be sharing some of our favorite reader goals with links to your blogs! *NOTE: Please feel free to use the image above on your own blogs if you like!
So, you know, I naturally got excited. I mean, who doesn't love goals? Seriously. So, I made my own.
Here are mine:
1.) Show love and respect to my husband every day. <3
2.) Move more!
3.) DFCC + Weekly Cleaning list
4.) Join a Core Group at church
1.) Show love and respect to my husband every day. <3 - my marriage is one of the most important things in my life and I want to take care of it always. This website in particular has inspired me a lot: www.todaysletters.com
2.) Move more! - I used to want to exercise because of my looks. Now it's a little different - I want to excercise for my health! And not only longterm - I truly feel better when I go on a walk or go to the gym. Of course I want to maintain my weight - and if losing some weight is a side effect, I shall grant it a really good one.
3.) DFCC + Weekly Cleaning list - Owning an apartment with my husband has really made me realize how important a clean house is. What's DFCC you ask? Dishes, Floors, Clothes, and Counter. Make sure the dishes are clean, floors are picked up, clothes are picked up, and counter space is clean every day. Then I have a weekly cleaning list where I clean a particular part of the house each day - Ex. Monday - bathroom, Tues - Kitchen, etc. So far, this goal has been helping me! And a clean house = a happier me. (Ps - here's an article by my good friend Em that might inspire you - http://slowlycomingtoconsciousness.blogspot.com/2012/09/things-living-in-apartment-has-taught.html)
4.) Join a Core Group at church - I've been wanting to do this. Would love to join a newlywed group or a college age group. Can't wait!
Tell me some of your goals - simple or longterm. I would love to hear them!
Here's to learning and growing!
xo, Meredith
